Marion Eleanor Elisabeth Blomster Pearson was born June 11, 1916 to Albin and Hilda Blomster at home in Fish Lake Township, Chisago County, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in Fish Lake Lutheran Church in Stark, Minnesota. Her godparents were her uncle John Swenson and his wife Sofie. She married Lloyd Pearson on June 20, 1942 at Fish Lake and they lived in North Branch, Minnesota their entire married life. They had an infant son, Marlo, who died at birth in 1949 at Rush City Hospital. Marion died from cancer on July 12, 1981 at the age of 65.

Marion was an accomplished pianist and played piano at church and for her enjoyment. She always played “Here Comes Santa” and “Santa Claus Express” when we got together on Christmas Eve. She graduated from Normal School for teacher training and taught at area country schools in grades 1-8 before she got married. She was always generous to her family, buying clothes and gifts. After she married Lloyd, they lived in North Branch. She worked at Red Owl and later Nelson’s Country Market for many years as a cashier/check out. Marion loved to tell stories, especially about customers who came into the store. She would laugh until tears came to her eyes. Her mother, Hilda, would remind her about “another story” and that led to another story! She and Lloyd went to California during WWII with her parents and worked in the shipyards. During that time she developed a goiter and had surgery on it, but it left her eyes slightly protruding. One time for Galen’s birthday, she wrapped up an old coat and told him they didn’t have much money that year, so she hoped he would like his present. Galen was pretty disappointed when he opened it up. Then she gave him his real present!! She kept detailed scrapbooks of her nephew and niece Galen and Sharolyn, throughout their youth. She cared for her mother for many years later in life until her death. Marion had breast cancer, which went into remission, but returned later and was the cause of her death.
