Ebba Ines Florence Nelson Picotte was born on June 8, 1890 to Ida Sophia Horn (Elmstrom) Nelson and John August Nelson in the family residence at the Lakeshore Hotel on North Lindstrom Lake in Lindstrom. (This was the first hotel in what became Lindstrom.} Although it later burnt, the family residence is still standing and occupied. She died March 27.

She was preceded in death by her husband Adolph, parents, 3 brothers, Walter Elstrom, Caleb and Rickard Nelson and sister Edna Elmstrom Olson.

The Horn-Nelson family were early Swedish settlers.

Her grandfather John Magny Horn and his family landed at Taylors Falls in 1868. He died at the age of 94 at the John Nelson's Resort, "Villa Cape Horn", now known as Rose Hill.

Educated in Lindstrom, Ebba Nelso was married at Cape Horn on May 13, 1913 to Adolph Picotte of Lake Linden, Michigan. He died in 1976 at the Chisago Lakes Hospital.
